Barcelona's president believes that the current squad is the best team in the history of world football.

Barcelona's president Josep Lluis Nunez has hailed the current squad as "the best team" that the world of football has ever seen.

Nunez had particular praise for Lionel Messi, who he said is even better than fellow Argentinian Diego Maradona was.

"The current Barcelona squad is the best team in the world and in history," Nunez told RAC1.

"Messi is the best player. Even compared to Maradona he has it all as a player and a person."

Barcelona are currently running away with La Liga and are 12 points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid.
