Report: Atletico Madrid 'desperate' to sign Jan Oblak

A report claims that Atletico Madrid are intent on signing Benfica stopper Jan Oblak this summer.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly 'desperate' to sign Benfica stopper Jan Oblak this summer.

With Thibaut Courtois returning to Chelsea following three seasons on loan in Madrid, the Spanish outfit are on the lookout for a new number one this summer.

A number of goalkeepers have been linked with a move, but according to Marca, Oblak has been identified as Atletico's leading target.

It is understood that Atletico have had a £13m bid rejected, but are prepared to return with an increased offer for the 21-year-old.

Oblak has a contract with Benfica until 2018.
