Raul Garcia pleased with Atletico Madrid competition

Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia believes that the competition in the squad will stand Diego Simeone's side in good stead for the new season.

Raul Garcia believes that the competition in the Atletico Madrid squad will stand the team in good stead for the new campaign.

The likes of Luciano Vietto, Jackson Martinez and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco have all arrived at the Vicente Calderon this summer to boost Atletico's forward options.

Garcia's own spot in the side is now under threat, but the Spaniard has welcomed the competition for places.

"Since coming to Atletico, there's always been competition and the internal competition raises the level of the entire team. The new players are going to help us a lot and everyone has to fight for their own place," he told La Liga World.

Atletico are currently on a pre-season tour of China.
