Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has revealed that he told his players "a few home truths" at half-time after his side's 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
A controversial penalty decision allowed Barry Bannan to put the visitors ahead, but Richard Dunne's late own goal levelled the match.
"I told them a few home truths at half-time. We were pretty poor, very poor, in the first half. It was not an Aston Villa performance," said the Scot.
"I let them know at half-time and sure enough (in the second half) it was a better performance."
The Midlands club, who remain unbeaten in the league this season, have moved up to eighth in the Premier League table after the draw.
