Georges-Kevin Nkoudou rescues late point for Marseille in draw with AS Monaco

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou snatches a late point for hosts Marseille as they draw 3-3 with AS Monaco at the Stade Velodrome in Ligue 1.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou's late second-half finish ensured that Marseille twice came from behind to claim a hard-fought 3-3 draw against visitors AS Monaco in Ligue 1 this evening.

After a bright opening to the fixture, it was Marseille who made use of the early chances as Romain Alessandrini finished neatly to give the home side a 1-0 lead after 12 minutes.

The goal seemed to kick Monaco into life, and they soon restored parity six minutes later through Almamy Toure, who opened his account after turning in a cross from Fabio Coentrao.

Marseille might have grabbed another lead soon after, although Michy Batshuayi was left frustrated after he saw his effort come back off the left post, following some standout creative work from Remy Cabella.

An action-packed first period continued to deliver and it was AS who were able to take an advantage into the break, as Toure returned to notch a brace when he latched on to a pass from Guido Carrillo in order to make it 2-1.

Marseille hit straight back after the break, however, as Karim Rekik crossed into the middle, leaving Batshuayi to finish adroitly from close range and bring the scores level.

With both sides pushing for a lead, Monaco were able to make the vital breakthrough with just under 20 minutes to play thanks to Coentrao, who turned from provider to finisher when he headed in from Elderson Echiejile's ball into the area to make it 3-2.

Michel's men sought to push hard for a leveller late on, and they were rewarded eight minutes from time when Nkoudou drilled down into the bottom corner to complete a memorable move started by substitute Lucas Ocampos.
