Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made progress in their bid to sign Middlesbrough's Djed Spence.
The full-back spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest, impressing for the Reds in his 42 appearances in the Championship.
Despite helping Nottingham Forest win promotion via the playoffs, a return to the City Ground looks unlikely, with a recent report indicating that Tottenham were stepping up their interest.
According to Football Insider, there have been further developments, as the North London club enter advanced talks with Middlesbrough.
The report states that the two clubs are currently negotiating a deal, with the fee expected to be in the region of £20m including add-ons.
As well as Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Brentford have also been credited with showing an interest in Spence, but Spurs are keen to get a deal over the line to ward off any competition for the Englishman's signature.
