Schalke 04 confident of Julian Draxler stay

Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt insists that Julian Draxler will stay with the club for the rest of the season, despite interest from Arsenal.

Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has insisted that Arsenal transfer target Julian Draxler will stay with the club for the rest of the season and 'probably' beyond.

The Gunners have reportedly made a £25m bid for the 20-year-old Germany international.

Heldt has said that Draxler will be staying with the Bundesliga outfit, despite the fact that he has a £37m release clause.

"I am very sure that Julian will play in the second half for us - and probably beyond," Sky Sports News quotes the Schalke chief as saying.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be confident of completing a deal for Draxler before the transfer window closes on Friday evening.
