Report: Arsenal fail with Kostas Manolas bid

A report claims that Arsenal have failed with a £5.5m bid for Roma's Greek international centre-back Kostas Manolas.

Arsenal have reportedly been informed that transfer target Kostas Manolas will not be allowed to leave Roma this summer.

The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates this month, and it is understood that the Premier League club made an offer in the region of £5.5m.

According to the Sunday People, however, Roma have knocked back the bid and insisted that the centre-back is not for sale at any price.

Manolas, who has 20 caps for Greece, played the second half of Roma's pre-season friendly against Real Madrid on Saturday.
