A report claims that Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez may choose Paris Saint-Germain over Manchester City after being offered higher wages by the French club.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly at the front of the queue to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez next summer after agreeing to better Manchester City's wage offer.

The Chile international is almost certain to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the campaign as a free agent, having turned down the club's offer of a new contract.

Sanchez was close to joining the Citizens on deadline day in a £60m transfer, only for Arsenal to pull the plug late on after missing out on replacement attacker Thomas Lemar of Monaco.

City are widely considered to still be in the running to sign the 28-year-old in the New Year, either in January or next summer, but The Sun suggests that PSG are the current favourites to land the in-demand forward.

Sanchez is said to have demanded £400,000 a week to join the Parisians, which they were unwilling to offer, but they are prepared to better the £275,000 sum offered by Man City.

The same report suggests that PSG will offload Edinson Cavani to make room for Sanchez following the Uruguayan striker's on-field disagreement with world-record purchase Neymar last week.
