Leeds United are reportedly interested in former Arsenal midfielder Fran Merida.
Between 2006 and 2010, Merida made 16 appearances for the Gunners, with six substitute outings coming in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old has now represented numerous teams in Spain and Portugal but according to The Sun, an offer could soon be on the table for a return to England.
Head coach Thomas Christiansen has allegedly asked club scouts to check on Merida, who now plays in the Spanish second tier with Osasuna.
Leeds have made an excellent start to the new Championship campaign, with the Yorkshire giants sitting at the top of the table after nine matches.
Since Christiansen's arrival during the summer, six Spanish players have signed on the dotted line at Elland Road.
