Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has encouraged manager Arsene Wenger to break the bank in signing a 30-goal-per-season striker this summer.
Olivier Giroud netted 22 times in all competitions for the Gunners last season but his compatriot believes that the hitman needs extra competition in order to improve.
Arsenal ended a nine-year trophy drought by pipping Hull City to the FA Cup last month, but Koscielny says that the absence of a prolific frontman will hinder the club in their search for bigger prizes.
"We need to recruit a very, very good striker, because it's important for us, for competition for places, because Olivier needs that to become even better," he told reporters.
"Having a striker who scores more than 30 goals a season can help us win the Premier League.
"Compared to the squads like Manchester City, even [Manchester] United or Chelsea, you can see there's a certain difference."
Real Madrid marksman Karim Benzema is among those to have been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
