Thierry Henry is reportedly edging closer to a return to old club Arsenal.

The striker is currently training with the Gunners during the MLS off-season.

Henry has been linked with a short-term loan move from the New York Red Bulls, and reports this morning suggest that the Frenchman has been gunning for a move back to North London with impressive displays in training.

Arsene Wenger has remained tight-lipped on a potential loan move, but Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has said that he would welcome Henry's return.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League with 33 points from 18 games.
