Fiorentina are closing in on the signing of Lucas Torreira from Arsenal, according to a report.
The Uruguay international has returned to the English capital and is undertaking individual training, but he is not thought to be in Mikel Arteta's plans this season.
Torreira was heavily linked with a return to South America with Boca Juniors, but another stint in Serie A has also been mooted for the former Sampdoria man.
Now, football.london claims that Fiorentina are set to win the race for Torreira's signature, with La Viola agreeing a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
The report adds that Torreira will fly to Italy on Tuesday in order to finalise his move, but the 25-year-old originally wanted to force his way back into Arteta's plans before being deemed surplus to requirements.
Torreira prepares to leave Arsenal after scoring four goals and setting up six more for the Gunners since arriving from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018.
