Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos is reportedly open to the idea of leaving Real Madrid on a permanent basis this summer, but views Real Betis as his ideal destination.

Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos is reportedly open to leaving Real Madrid on a permanent basis this summer, but would prefer to join Real Betis over the Gunners.

The 23-year-old has endured a mixed time on loan at the Emirates Stadium so far, suffering a muscle injury which has limited him to 24 appearances and spending a spell outside the team under Mikel Arteta even when he was fit.

However, he had worked his way back into Arteta's thinking before football was halted due to the coronavirus lockdown and the Arsenal boss is reportedly keen to make the loan move permanent when the transfer window reopens.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claims that Ceballos recognises he will likely have to leave Madrid this summer in order to further his career, with Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane deeming him surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.

A permanent switch to Arsenal would be of interest to the Spaniard, but the report claims that his ideal destination would be a return to Real Betis, where he spent six seasons before moving to Madrid.

Ceballos made 105 first-team appearances for Betis after coming through the ranks, helping the club to re-establish themselves back in the top flight.
