Oliver Bierhoff: 'Mesut Ozil will develop at Arsenal'

Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff insists that Mesut Ozil will continue to develop at Arsenal following his record transfer from Real Madrid.

Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has insisted that Mesut Ozil will continue to develop at Arsenal following his move from Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old joined the Gunners on transfer deadline day for a club-record fee of £42.5m.

"Firstly, I am very happy for Mesut that he has joined such a great club," BBC Sport quotes Bierhoff as saying.

"I believe that he will develop further in London, both athletically but also personally.

"After three years of Spain, and the departure now, I think he ha established himself well."

Ozil is currently with the Germany squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Austria and the Faroe Islands.
