Arsenal to pay £5m for Ben Chilwell?

Arsenal are reportedly told that they will have to pay at least £5m to secure the signing of young Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

Arsenal are reportedly chasing a deal for Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell as the transfer deadline approaches.

The 19-year-old, who plays at left-back and right-back, recently returned to the East Midlands after concluding a two-month loan spell with Championship side Huddersfield Town.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have expressed an interest in bringing him to the Emirates on a permanent deal but have been told that they must pay at least £5m.

Chilwell's current wages of £800 a week are thought to be a bargaining chip for Arsene Wenger's side, although title challengers Leicester are preparing improved terms in an attempt to keep the young prospect.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest.
