Arsenal to move for Ilkay Gundogan?

Arsene Wenger could be looking to move for highly-rated German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to a report.

Manager Arsene Wenger could be looking to bring another creative midfielder into his squad in January, following reports linking Arsenal with a move for £25m-rated Ilkay Gundogan.

Borussia Dortmund's 23-year-old has been pivotal in Jurgen Klopp's side, both domestically and in Europe, with the midfielder playing an important role in their run to the Champions League final last season.

The Daily Star reports that Arsenal could make a move in the next transfer window, but Barcelona and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the German international.

It is believed Gundogan may favour the Emirates Stadium if he did decide to move, as Arsenal already have a strong German presence in the dressing room, with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski all playing for the London club.

The Gunners currently sit at the top of the Premier League table.
