Report: Barcelona target new midfielder

A report claims that Barcelona will sign a high-profile midfielder at the end of the season.

Spanish champions Barcelona will reportedly sign a high-profile midfielder at the end of the season.

The Catalan outfit lost Thiago to Bayern Munich in the summer, while Andres Iniesta and Xavi are both entering the latter stages of their career.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club are preparing for life after the Spanish duo, with Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan, Atletico Madrid's Koke and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere all on the wanted list.

Cesc Fabregas had also been linked with a move away from Camp Nou in the summer, but has since established himself as a key member of their first XI.
