Arsenal will agree a new deal with Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal in the coming days.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, with La Liga side Athletic Bilbao rumoured to be in pole position.
However, Mundo Deportivo claims that Monreal will follow in the footsteps of Theo Walcott and fellow countryman Santi Cazorla by extending his stay with the North London club.
It is thought that the defender already has a verbal agreement with the Gunners and could finalise his new deal, which is expected to keep him at Arsenal until 2017, in due course.
Arsenal started their season by beating Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.
