Arsenal have reportedly identified Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals as a possible January signing.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery was busy during the summer, with Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi brought in to strengthen the side in the middle of the park.
According to The Sun, Emery now wants to add a third new midfielder by looking to meet Fornal's release clause in his Villarreal contract.
The 22-year-old is allegedly able to leave the La Liga outfit for £17.8m, and it is a fee which Arsenal could look to raise by selling Mohamed Elneny.
Fornals has established himself as a key figure at Villarreal, with seven goals coming from 63 outings in all competitions since his exit from Malaga in July 2017.
