Arsenal are reportedly on the brink of bringing in Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors after agreeing to pay the winger's £27m release clause.
The 21-year-old recently emerged as the Gunners' top target to replace Alexis Sanchez, who is expected to leave for Manchester City before the end of the month.
Arsenal will use a large part of the expected £35m fee Sanchez's transfer generates to land Pavon and, according to TyC Sports, an announcement could be made at some stage on Tuesday evening.
Boca are said to have been hoping to keep the Argentina international until the summer, but Arsene Wenger has played a part in bringing the move forward by five months, as he is worried the player's valuation will only increase with time.
Pavon, also linked with Manchester City in the past, impressed on his senior international debut against Nigeria in November.
