Arsenal are reportedly planning to jump back in the market for Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar if Alexis Sanchez leaves this month.
Manager Arsene Wenger has denied reports that talks with Manchester City have begun, but it has been widely claimed that the Chilean is keen to move to the Etihad Stadium.
The North London outfit are believed to be open to selling the attacker in this window rather than allow him to leave the club at the end of the season for free.
According to The Mirror, if the sale of Sanchez is sanctioned within the next few weeks, Arsenal will once again try to sign £90m-rated Lemar.
The Gunners made a deadline-day attempt to sign the Frenchman last summer, but a deal was never agreed on account of Sanchez's proposed move to City falling through.
Lemar is also understood to be wanted by Liverpool, who are hunting for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
