Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles could push to leave the Gunners in January, according to a report.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated with his lack of football this season and will push to leave Arsenal when the January transfer window opens for business.

The 24-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from the Gunners over the summer, but the deadline passed with the midfielder still at the Emirates Stadium.

Maitland-Niles has made 11 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side this season but has only been included in a Premier League starting XI on two occasions.

According to the Daily Mail, the England international was promised a more prominent role during the 2021-22 campaign, and he is desperate to secure regular football at this stage of his career.

The report claims that Maitland-Niles could push for a move away from the club next month, with Newcastle United and Everton said to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

The Englishman has not featured for Arsenal in the league since the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on November 20 and was left out of the squad for Monday's 2-1 loss to Everton.
