Abou Diaby signs for Olympique Marseille

Abou Diaby signs for Marseille on a free transfer from Arsenal.

Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has signed for Marseille on a free transfer, the French club has confirmed.

Diaby had been for a medical with West Bromwich Albion last week but has turned down their contract offer in order to join the Ligue 1 outfit.

The 29-year-old was released by the Gunners last month after making 182 appearances since 2006, yet managed to take the field just twice in the last two seasons.

The Frenchman is L'OM's eighth signing of the summer, joining alongside fellow former Arsenal man Lassana Diarra.

There have been no details revealed so far about the length of the deal.
