Arsene Wenger admits that Theo Walcott is no longer a "liability defensively" for Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Theo Walcott has improved his game to become a "complete player".

The England international, who moved to the Emirates from Southampton five years ago, scored in the side's 5-3 demolition of Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

"Theo has been struggling because we make him work very hard," said Wenger. "He has become a more complete player. He's not a liability defensively, he does his defensive job.

"At the start that makes you have heavy legs when you win the ball back but now he is getting used to it and he does his job going forward as well.

"He went through a patch maybe where he worked so hard he didn't have the resources to go forward, but not now."

The Gunners take on Marseille in the Champions League group clash tomorrow.
