Unai Emery opens up on his preferred style of play, which will be heavily dependent on new side Arsenal being in possession of the ball.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has insisted that he will set his side out to be "protagonists" in every match they play next season.

The Gunners announced the arrival of the former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain boss on Wednesday morning, ushering in a new era at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking at his first press conference as Arsenal boss, Emery revealed that he will favour a possession-based approach from next season, while also pressing high when his side are without the ball.

"My idea is to be protagonists all the match," he told reporters. "We play against all the teams with this personality, with I think the history here is one.

"They love playing with possession of the ball. They like this personality. I like to be protagonists with the ball. And when you don't have possession with the ball I want a squad, very very intensive, for the pressing."

Emery won eight major honours during his time at Sevilla and PSG, most recently winning a domestic treble with the latter this season.
