Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has revealed that Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini is the "best coach" he has ever worked with.
The 27-year-old played under Pellegrini for two seasons before his move to the Emirates Stadium in January.
Monreal told The Metro: "He's the best coach I've worked under, the one who taught me the most,
"He knows everything there is to know. It's a shame that the project is falling apart. I hope [Malaga owner] Sheikh Al-Thani reconsiders, because the people there deserve better."
Pellegrini has been linked with the vacant managerial post at Manchester City following the sacking of Roberto Mancini last week.
