Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has said that it was "great" to secure 90 minutes on the pitch as the Gunners defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 at Selhurst Park on Thursday.

Chambers returned to training in October following a hip injury that he picked up in the EFL Cup against Doncaster Rovers, and the Englishman has been carefully brought back into contention.

Arsene Wenger placed Chambers in the right side of his defence in South London as the club held on for three vital points.

"It was tough, [Crystal Palace] a quality team with a lot going forward, so it was a well-earned three points I think," Chambers told the club's official website.

"It was great to be back out there, it has been a bit of a frustrating start to the season for me, having been injured for quite a lot of it, so I'm glad to be back out there and to get the 90 minutes as well.

"It's really pleasing, so I just want to work on that and improve going on from there."

Arsenal face West Bromwich Albion on New Years' Eve, looking to break into the Premier League's top four.
