Emmanuel Adebayor: 'Arsenal are soft'

Spurs hitman Emmanuel Adebayor stokes the fires ahead of Sunday's derby with Arsenal by claiming that they lack the grit needed to win.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has stoked the fires ahead of Sunday's North London derby by claiming that Arsenal lack the 'battlers' necessary to win.

The capital outfits renew hostilities for the third time this season at White Hart Lane tomorrow, and Adebayor - who spent three-and-a-half years with the Gunners - says that his former club will lose the physical battle.

He told The Mirror: "Arsenal are a good team when they have the ball. When they don't, they are not that good. When you put them under pressure, they can't handle it.

"They don't have a lot of physical presence. Apart from Flamini, I don't see anyone who puts themselves into a proper battle. Rosicky is not that type of player, Cazorla is not the type of player who defends. Arteta is trying to do it, but that's not his job.

"They don't have anybody who can say, 'if I have to kick, I will kick. If we have to fight, I will put myself at the front of it'. That's how we have to play. Push them and force them to make errors."

Arsene Wenger's men have enjoyed success over Spurs on two occasions in the Premier League and FA Cup this season - both at the Emirates Stadium.

Tomorrow's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4pm.
