Sports Mole previews Wednesday's League Cup third-round clash between Arsenal and Coventry City at the Emirates.

Arsenal welcome struggling League One outfit Coventry City to the Emirates in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday.

The Gunners have started the season in solid fashion, registering nine points from five games to sit fifth in the Premier League. Meanwhile, they overcame Montpellier in their Champions League clash last week.

Coventry, meanwhile, currently sit second bottom of League One, but there is renewed optimism following the appointment of new boss Mark Robins. They will have to improve their recent record against Arsenal if they are to progress, however, having lost each of their last eight away meetings with the Gunners.

Arsenal enter the match having not lost in 10 matches, while it is 29 years since they were eliminated from the competition by a side in the third tier.

The home side are expected to name a youthful lineup for the match with Nico Yennaris and Francis Coquelin among those expected to start. Meanwhile, Coventry could hand a start to new loan signing James Bailey, but Conor Henderson is unavailable to play against his parent club.

Recent form:

Arsenal: DDWWWD
Coventry City: LDLLLL

Possible lineups:

Arsenal: Shea; Djourou, Squillaci, Koscielny, Santos; Yennaris, Coquelin, Ramsey, Arshavin; Giroud, Chamakh

Coventry City: Dunn; Clarke, Cameron, Brown, Malaga; Bailey, Barton, Kilbane, Garner; Elliot, Ball

Sports Mole says: 3-0
