Jack Wilshere faces three weeks injured as new season starts

Jack Wilshere will reportedly miss the first three weeks of the new season with an ankle problem.

Arsenal have been dealt a blow with the news that Jack Wilshere will miss the first three weeks of the season, according to reports.

The midfielder missed the Gunners' win over Chelsea in the Community Shield due to an ankle problem he picked up in training, but manager Arsene Wenger hinted that he would be available to play against West Ham United this weekend.

However, the Daily Mail claims that the 23-year-old will miss the first three weeks of the new campaign, and is a doubt for England's Euro 2016 qualification double-header against San Marino and Switzerland in September.

Wilshere has had persistent ankle problems throughout his career, and spent five months on the sidelines last season.
