Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could return for Southampton clash

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reveals that midfielder Aaron Ramsey is expected to be back in action on New Year's Day.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey could recover from a hamstring injury in time for the team's trip to Southampton on New Year's Day.

The midfielder, who has scored six goals in 21 games this season, suffered the problem earlier this month.

Despite doubts over his long-term fitness, Wenger is confident that the Welsh international will be back in action at the start of 2015.

Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Emirates Stadium.
