Arsenal injury news and return dates before Wolves clash: Timber, Tomiyasu latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The quest to end 21 years of Premier League hurt begins once again for Arsenal on Saturday, as the Gunners host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates in the opening weekend.

Mikel Arteta's men were once again forced to accept silver medals in the 2023-24 campaign, despite taking the title fight with Manchester City right up to the final day.

The North London giants have laid down some early markers at the Emirates in pre-season, though, thrashing Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen before retaining the Emirates Cup with victory over Lyon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the meeting with Wolves, who finished 14th in the table last term.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 15 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Continuing his terrible luck with injuries in an Arsenal shirt, Takehiro Tomiyasu was not available in pre-season owing to a knee injury, which will sideline him for a few weeks at least. A comeback in next month's North London derby has not been ruled out, though.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: August 17 (vs. Wolves)

Now fully recovered from last season's ACL injury, Jurrien Timber has had to take a step back due to a foot problem, but Arteta is optimistic that the Dutchman will be ready for action on Saturday.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kieran Tierney was inconsolable when a hamstring injury cut his Euro 2024 campaign short, and the Scotland international is still on the mend, but there is a good chance that he will be sold before the end of the month either way.

Fabio Vieira

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: August 17 (vs. Wolves)

Fabio Vieira missed Arsenal's Emirates Cup success over Lyon due to a small hip issue, but he is also back in full training and should be available for the weekend.
