Half-Time Report: Goalless between Swansea City, Arsenal

Swansea City and Arsenal play out a goalless 45 minutes in their Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium, as Bafetimbi Gomis misses two chances to take the lead.

The visitors started the game the brighter of the two sides, as Olivier Giroud met an inviting Joel Campbell cross with a header. The Frenchman's effort was blocked as far as Nacho Monreal, who fired wide from the rebound.

Campbell came close to finding the opener for the Gunners, as the Costa Rican tried his luck from outside the Swansea penalty box, only for his effort to go narrowly over the bar.

Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis missed a great opportunity to give the hosts the lead on 21 minutes, as the French international was presented with a one-on-one opportunity against Arsenal keeper Petr Cech, only for Hector Bellerin to race back and concede a corner.

The match opened up before the half-hour mark, as Cech kept out a Gomis header from a Jefferson Montero cross before Giroud curled an effort over the bar at the other end of the pitch.

Both sides missed chances to take the lead before the break, as Joel Campbell was denied by former Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski from distance, before Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson saw an effort from a corner deflect off target.
