Half-Time Report: Arsenal cruising against Lyon

Four quick goals give Arsenal a 4-0 half-time lead in the opening match of the 2015 Emirates Cup.

Arsenal have romped into a commanding 4-0 half-time lead over Lyon in the opening match of this year's Emirates Cup.

It took until the 13-minute mark for the first proper chance to emerge as Clinton N'Jie's low drive was pushed away by Damian Martinez in the Arsenal goal.

The Gunners came alive after that, with Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil heavily involved for Arsene Wenger's side.

Giroud troubled the Lyon defence on 22 minutes when his header from Mathieu Debuchy's cross went over, while the Frenchman got in the way of Ozil's powerful shot soon after.

However, Giroud and Ozil combined to give Arsenal the lead with 29 minutes on the clock as the former rose highest to head Ozil's free kick into the net.

The home side extended their advantage on 35 minutes through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who fired into the bottom corner following a quick counter-attack.

It got better for Arsenal just a minute later as Alex Iwobi took advantage of some poor defending to drill the ball home before a simple finish from Aaron Ramsey made it 4-0.
