St Mirren boss Gary Teale: 'We deserved nothing from Aberdeen game'

St Mirren manager Gary Teale admits that lapses in concentration cost his side during their defeat to Aberdeen.

St Mirren manager Gary Teale has admitted that his side deserved to leave Pittodrie Stadium empty-handed following their 3-0 loss to Aberdeen.

The Buddies boss said that lapses in concentration cost his side dearly, but he took heart from midfielder John McGinn's dogged performance.

"We didn't deserve anything out the game. Aberdeen were excellent. I am disappointed at all three goals. It's the lapses of concentration that are costing us just now," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"If we can finish in 10th position, that is the challenge, so that we are in this league next season. I thought John McGinn was excellent. He kept going right to the end. We need more of that determination."

The result leaves St Mirren second from bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, while Aberdeen move level on points with leaders Celtic, having played two games more.
