Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes: 'We deserved our equaliser'

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes says his side would have beaten Dundee if the match had lasted five minutes longer.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has insisted that his side deserved the last-ditch equaliser they scored in their 3-3 draw against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

Although the Dons needed a late penalty and a stoppage-time strike from Ryan Jack to rescue a point, their coach believes that they would have taken all three had the match lasted another five minutes.

"We showed a few different sides to our game today," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"Dundee were really clinical, they have good players and you have to credit them, particularly for the two goals in the first half.

"Thankfully we managed to get the equaliser and it was no more than the players deserved. If the match lasted another five minutes we'd have won it."

The result leaves Aberdeen two points clear of second-placed Celtic at the top of the division, although they have played two games more than the Hoops.
