Phil Taylor has expressed disappointment at the level of his performance during his 4-1 victory over Jerry Hendriks in the last 32 of the PDC World Championship.
Although the 15-time world champion won comfortably, he averaged just 90.23 and missed 24 darts at a double.
"I'm happy with 4-1, but I'm not happy with the performance," Taylor told Sky Sports News.
"The more Jerry was struggling, the more I was struggling myself. I felt sorry for him, I've never done that before.
"It was hard work, it really was."
Taylor will face Robert Thornton in round three on Sunday, after the Scot overcame Paul Nicholson in a dramatic sudden-death leg.
