Surrey have been relegated to Division Two of the County Championship after a six-wicket defeat against Warwickshire.
With his side needing a victory at Edgbaston to stay up, Surrey captain Gareth Batty declared twice to set the hosts a target of 281 to win.
Ateeq Javid's knock of 119 not out and an unbeaten 79 from Chris Woakes steered them to 281-4 after 91.4 overs.
The defeat means that Surrey have dropped out of Division One for the first time since 2008.
Meanwhile, Lancashire have won Division Two of the County Championship following a draw with Gloucestershire.
