The Essex Eagles have announced that Wahab Riaz has agreed to play seven Twenty20 matches for them this year.
The 30-year-old bowler, who was recently included in the Pakistan squad for next month's ICC T20 World Cup, has had previous spells with Kent Spitfires and Surrey.
"We are pleased to have Wahab joining the squad for the first half of the NatWest T20 Blast season," head coach Chris Silverwood told the club's official website.
"He will add a different dimension to our bowling attack, being a left-armer and bowling with real pace."
At the end of his stint in Chelmsford, Riaz will be replaced by New Zealander Adam Milne.
