England delay Liam Plunkett's arrival in South Africa due to injury concerns

England delay Liam Plunkett's arrival in South Africa due to concerns over a thigh injury.

Liam Plunkett's initial plan to fly out to South Africa to join the England squad this weekend has been delayed by the ECB due to concerns over his thigh injury.

Just two days ago, the seamer was named as a replacement for Steven Finn, who has been ruled out of the remainder of England's tour in South Africa with a side strain.

Plunkett was due to compete in the upcoming one-day series and Twenty20 matches, but the ECB has confirmed that the bowler will need to come through fitness tests before he joins up with the squad.

The 30-year-old is in Dubai with the England Lions, but he was ruled out of their first ODI against Pakistan A because of the injury.
