Warwickshire director of cricket Dougie Brown has insisted that Jonathan Trott is in a good position despite failing in his comeback innings on Tuesday.
Trott, batting for the first time since leaving the Ashes series with burnout, could only make four before being trapped lbw by Gloucestershire's David Payne at Edgbaston in a pre-season friendly.
However, Brown believes that Trott is feeling good ahead of the new County Championship season as the batsman looks to boost his chances of returning to international cricket.
"He is in a good space at the moment I think. His cricket is in pretty good order, he has had a good break, a good layoff from any competitive cricket. He has got back into it in the last two or three weeks," Brown told Sky Sports News.
"In himself he appears very normal, the same as what he was when he was playing very well at the beginning of last year."
Warwickshire begin their County Championship campaign against Sussex on April 13.
