A century from Ian Bell helps England move on to 296-2 at the conclusion of the afternoon session.

Ian Bell's 16th Test century helped England move on to 296-2 during the afternoon session of the fourth Test at the Oval.

Touring India were unable to take any wickets after lunch, with Kevin Pietersen heading in for tea just two short off his century on 98.

India had earlier claimed the wickets of England's opening pair of Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook during the morning session.

Weather permitting, play will go on until 7.00pm this evening to make up some of the time lost due to yesterday's rain.
