Adam Booth claims that Emanuel Steward was the greatest trainer ever following the news that the American had lost his battle with stomach cancer.

Adam Booth has called Emanuel Steward 'the greatest trainer of his time' following the 68-year-old's death.

Wladimir Klitschko's trainer, Steward, lost his battle with stomach cancer this week and Booth believes that the American has left a lasting legacy in the sport.

Booth, trainer of David Haye, said: "He was the greatest trainer of my time and probably there is no one that could rank higher than Emanuel Steward. It's just a sad, sad day.

"He wasn't just a great coach who trained fighters but he also educated the boxing world for decades. I grew up watching and listening to him so it's a very sad day.

"No professional coach likes to lose but if you have to lose then it's an honour to lose to someone like Emanuel Steward."

Steward trained 43 world champions during an illustrious career.
