Laura Muir through to women's 1500m Beijing final

Laura Muir reaches the women's 1500m final of the World Athletics Championship after finishing behind favourite Genzebe Dibaba.

Great Britain's Laura Muir is safely through to the final of the women's 1500m at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

The Scot finished third in her semi-final behind world record holder Genzebe Dibaba, who was the fastest qualifier.

Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands and Ethiopia's Dawit Seyaum led the field in the first heat to make sure of their place in the final.

Commonwealth silver medallist Laura Weightman pulled out of the semi-finals on medical advice, after she fell at the end of her heat on Saturday.
