Shelly Woods admits that the 800m is not her best event after losing in yesterday's T54 heats.

Great Britain's Shelly Woods has admitted that the 800m is not her best event after losing in yesterday's T54 heats.

Woods, who did not manage to qualify as one of the fastest losers for the 800m final, is instead focusing on the 1,500m and the marathon over the next few days.

"I just entered this event for some track time before the 1,500m, so I wasn't really expecting to make the final although it would have been really nice," Woods told the Blackpool Gazette.

"I'm pushing really well, and I have the 1,500m and then the marathon. Those races are more my territory, so I'll keep going and hope a good result will come my way.

"The support you get in London is amazing I've never experienced anything like it. They definitely lift you when the going gets tough."

The 1,500m heats take place tomorrow.
