Greg Rutherford blasts noisy Athletes' Village

England long jumper Greg Rutherford complains that his neighbours in the Athletes' Village at the Commonwealth Games are "the nosiest people".

Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford has hit out at "ignorant athletes" making too much noise in the Athletes' Village at the Commonwealth Games.

The 27-year-old, who will represent England in Glasgow, is one of around 6,500 competitors staying in the Village.

He wrote on Twitter: "Being in an athletes village is great until the ignorant athletes make more noise than a herd of elephants startled in a china shop

"It bloody kills me. I have the noisiest people above me with some serious big feet banging around.

"I think some people are determined to annoy every other athlete around them. Strong words will be said soon."

Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive Mike Hooper said that there have been no official complaints about noise from the athletes.
