Greg Rutherford "gutted" by Mo Farah withdrawal

Olympic champion long jumper Greg Rutherford admits that he is "gutted" to hear that Mo Farah will not be competing at the Commonwealth Games.

Greg Rutherford has admitted that he was "gutted" to hear that Mo Farah has been forced to pull out of the Commonwealth Games.

The double Olympic champion announced that he would not be competing in Glasgow this morning after struggling to recover from a recent illness.

The long jumper, who won Olympic gold on the same day that Farah won the 5,000m title in London, wrote on Twitter: "Gutted to hear England have lost another athlete and it's Mo! Hoping for a speedy recovery to a national treasure."

The athletics events get underway in Glasgow on July 27.
