Geva Mentor: Defeat to Australia was "heartbreaking"

England goalkeeper Geva Mentor admits that it was "heartbreaking" to lose to Australia by a single point.

Geva Mentor has said that it was "heartbreaking" to lose by a single point to Australia in their netball match earlier today.

England were level with their opponents heading into the final minute, but Caitlin Bassett made a shot in the closing moments to seal the win.

The goalkeeper said after the match: "It is heartbreaking but I think it is going to be like that because we know we have the capabilities to do it, we have the skill, we know we have the belief.

"The fact that we were winning it after 59 minutes and 30 seconds just goes to show that we can run with these girls and we can compete with them physically, skill-wise and mentally.

"It is not what we wanted but I have said all along there are many ways to get to the final and this just instills more fire in the belly and more determination."

Despite the defeat, England remain second in their pool.
