Joe Gibbs has "good feeling" about Jay Gruden

Former Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs says that he has a good feeling about new head coach Jay Gruden.

Former Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs has said that he has a "good feeling" about Jay Gruden taking charge of the side.

The former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator replaced Mike Shanahan at the NFC East side at the end of the 2013 NFL season.

Gibbs, who won three Super Bowl win the Redskins, told NFL.com: "You pick up on all the things he says and the fact he's actually been running an offense, making the calls from the sideline and he's going to do the same thing with the Redskins. So you have a good feeling about the offense.

"He went out aggressively, went after his defensive staff and special teams. That's a crucial thing to go with his skills because he'll be on offense. I think everybody seems to be excited about it, and I think he is."

The Redskins finished with the second worst record in the NFL in 2013, just a year after winning the division title.
